Arjun is a father of five children. One day while working in the sugarcane factory, Arjun grew exhausted and fell asleep. While he was sleeping, dried sugarcane leaves caught fire nearby, and soon the whole factory was in flames. By the time Arjun woke up, it was too late. He experienced third degree burns on his body and face. The original cost of medical treatment was 15,000 rupees (220 USD), but eventually the cost of medical bills became too high. To pay for further burn treatment, he had to borrow funds from his relatives, putting him and his family further into debt. However, the treatment proved unsuccessful and Arjun began to grow desperate. Due to his injuries, he is unable to work and or even complete daily tasks without assistance. Arjun has now undergone two surgeries here at CRHP and is slowly regaining his strength and mobility. He is a true inspiration of perseverance and patience.
